EXPENSES
Construction costs are 100% covered up to $5,500 for any selected project and up to $10,000 for exceptional projects during the program’s current pilot phase. Property owners are asked to pay for costs exceeding the awarded amount. There is currently no long term maintenance funding available. While this may change in time, property owners are expected to maintain their projects annually to ensure continued functionality and water quality benefits for as long as possible.
TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE
Mid Sound will design your project consulting with you every step of the way! We will manage any potential permitting and the hiring of a contractor and will create a construction schedule based around your needs. We’re committed to making things as easy as we can!
Depending on what we design together, your project could cost more than the funding available. We can plan to avoid this if you wish. If you would like to design a project that exceeds available funding, you are welcome to cover the remaining cost with cash or by providing in-kind materials and labor.
We will be available during and after installation to provide technical assistance with your new rainwater project. We will also provide the information and support you need to feel confident about maintaining your new rainwater run off project into the future!
EXPECTATIONS
After installation is complete, cooperators are responsible for maintaining the project on their property. You are expected to disclose information about the rainwater feature if or when your property is sold.
Mid Sound Staff will ask for updates on the condition of the project on an annual basis. We may request that you email photos of the project along with an update or we may make a site visit.
